On 25th July 2013, Steve will attempt to swim the English Channel solo. Steve successfully swam the channel in 2007, as part of the Enduroman Arch to Arc Triathlon (run 87 miles from London to Dover, swim the Channel, cycle 178 miles from Calais to Paris), however this was not officially recognised by the authorities as it was completed under triathlon health and safety condtions and he wore a wetsuit.

Steve has registered his swim with the Channel Swimming association as the number swimmer's position on the neap tide of 25th to 31st July 2013.
